Burning Man, the desert festival of self-expression for repressed tech workers who like to wear goofy costumes and do ayahuasca, prides itself on its 10 principles, which include gifting and “radical self-reliance,” the ability for anyone “to discover, exercise and rely on his or her inner resources.”

This year’s Burning Man Festival was held from August 27 to September 4 in the Black Rock City of Nevada. And like every year,  we got to hear about the kinky stories emerging from the Burning Man festival and obviously, there will be many videos floating around and what better place to find such videos then Pornhub.

That is why Burning Man Festival related subjects were the top searched terms on  Pornhub. As reported by Pornhub Insights, searches for “festival public sex” saw a staggering 833% increase since Burning Man took place.

From August 27 to September 4, Pornhub noticed a surge in Burning Man related search increases in areas surrounding Black Rock City. In addition to “festival public sex,” “sex festival” saw an uptick of 675%, “Burning Man” saw an uptick of 389%, and even “hippie,” “hitchhiker,” and “Nevada” saw an uptick in searches.

For the uninitiated, Burning Man Festival is held every year in Nevada, United States. Billed as one of the top draws for the geeks from Silicon City, Burning Man is an annual gathering that takes place at Black Rock City—a temporary city erected in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada. While the event it advertised for techies, it is attended by almost all sorts of radicals. The event is described as an experiment in community and art, influenced by 10 main principles: “radical” inclusion, self-reliance, and self-expression, as well as community cooperation, civic responsibility, gifting, decommodification, participation, immediacy, and leaving no trace.
